Bury Ditches is often rated as a spectacular example of a surviving hill fort as it forms a neat oval or elliptical shape and is situated on the crown of a hill called Sunnyhill and comprises of upto four multi-vallate ditches and rampart banks as part of its defesive earthworks and two well preserved entrance ways.

From the summit views are clear to the Long Mynd, Corndon Hill and the Shropshire Hils.

Waymared walks cross the site and pass through the woodlands below. The Shropshrie Way and Jack Mytton Way pass below the site and Wild Edric's Way crosses adjacent to it.

Caus Castle is a hill fort and medieval castle in the civil parish of Westbury in the English county of Shropshire. It is situated up on the eastern foothills of the Long Mountains gurarding the route from Shrewsbury, Shropshire to Montgomery, Powys on the border between England and Wales.

LLANGOLLEN RAILWAY is a mainly Steam hauled Heritage Railway Line starting at Llangollen Station located beside the Dee River Bridge in Llangollen Town, and continuing for 7 ½ miles upstream, following the River Dee to the village of Carrog.

The Railway remains close to the waters of the river for most of it's length, On the north bank at Llangollen Station, the river is crossed on to the south bank via the Dee Bridge, approximately one mile upstream from Llangollen.

Medieval castle rising dramatically above the celebrated garden

The world-famous garden, overhung with clipped yews, shelters rare and tender plants. Laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles, it retains its original lead statues and an orangery on the terraces. High on a rock above the terraces, the castle, originally built circa 1200, began life as a medieval fortress.

The SVR is a full-size standard-gauge railway line running regular steam-hauled passenger trains for the benefit of visitors and enthusiasts alike between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire, a distance of 16 miles. The journey is full of interest, for the route follows closely the meandering course of the River Severn for most of the way on its journey between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth. One highlight of the trip is the crossing of the River Severn by means of the Victoria Bridge - a massive 200-foot single span, high above the water which, incidentally, features in the film 'The Thirty-nine Steps' with Robert Powell in the leading role.

The nearest place to pick up the SVR which is also the end of the line is Bridgnorth. All in all a great day out.
